  1. Beginner-friendly resources to learn Buddhism

We have received inquiries for recommendations for beginner-friendly resources to learn Buddhism.

Below please find some.  The following come from one of our volunteers and do not necessarily reflect the views of all other volunteers.  We welcome your recommendations for other resources we don’t know about.

  1. “Awaken to the Buddha Within” by Venerable Shi Wuling

http://www.abrc.org.au/Awaken%20to%20the%20Buddha%20Within.pdf

The volunteer found this book very clear, lucid, and easy to understand.  It clearly laid out the reasons to learn Buddhism and the path for how.

2. “Awaken to the Buddha Within” and other works by Venerable Shi Wuling on audio

http://www.amitabha-gallery.org/dharma_talk1.htm

The volunteer listened to the book on audio.  This website connects to other works by Venerable Shi Wuling.

3. Perhaps a bit more in-depth / advanced: the same volunteer found the following to be a very helpful FOUNDATIONAL text

LIBERATION IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND

Another volunteer recommends

4.

The Opening of the Wisdom-Eye: And the History of the Advancement of Buddhadharma in Tibet

by His Holiness the Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso
